Point Break started with Ryan's love for chicken wings. He began a passionate chase to find the best wings out there, which lead to many visits to Jamaica. There he ate all the Jerk chicken he could and ate at every restaurant on the island that offered wings. He wanted to adapt what he found to fit the healthier lifestyle his family lived, so the grilled wings were born.
With the grilled wings concept established, Ryan started grilling wings at his home every chance he got, feeding family, neighbors, and friends. The grilled wings were a HUGE hit! With 12 years of experience running and operating a restaurant, he knew consistency was going to be the key to his success. It was game on, the next step was to develop the Point Break concept.
The base of Point Break revolves around healthy eating, and one of Ryan's favorite hobbies, surfing at the beach! With the support of his wife, Ashley, and their two kids, Point Break began to take shape. Surf style, a friendly atmosphere, kindness, and happiness are the foundation of Point Break culture.
In 2019, in the middle of the pandemic, Ryan set out to open a ghost kitchen. The kitchen only offered delivery for pre-cooked home packages and catering. After the first year, Point Break saw the customer base grow substantially, and the catering program had taken off. The menu started with 5 main items, and 4 sides, and although it was simple, it was unique and tasty!
